Huge fire erupts in Syrian tents in Akkar

The state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday that a large blaze erupted at Syrian encampments in the northern region of Akkar.

The agency added that the cause behind the fire is an electrical wire friction.

According to NNA, the encampment is located on the outskirts of Qobbet Shamra.

Residents worked on dousing the blaze and evacuated the women, children and old people.

Lebanon currently hosts about 1.2 million Syrian refugees.
