Nasrallah vows to finalize battle against Islamic State

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed Wednesday that “in order to face the current challenges and defeat the arrogant takfiri forces, there has to be an intellectual confrontation.”

In a televised speech, Nasrallah said that the Syrian army and the Resistance are now in control of the hills of the al-Qalamoun region, vowing that his party “will continue the battle against the Islamic State until the end.”

Hezbollah fighters came under fire from Islamic State militants for the first time in the Qalamoun campaign on Tuesday, Lebanese sources and Hezbollah said.

Hezbollah said scores of Islamic State fighters were killed including several commanders, and that it had the bodies of at least 14 fighters. Lebanese sources said at least four Hezbollah fighters were killed in the attack.
