MP Fayad says waste issue is ‘politicized’

Member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc MP Ali Fayad stressed that need to cooperate in order to resolve the waste management crisis, calling for maintaining “the minimum image of a unified state.”

In this regard, he noted that the file has become “a political issue.”

Lebanon has been plunged in a waste crisis since last week, when al-Naameh landfill closed and waste management company Sukleen stopped collecting garbage, leaving the streets of Beirut inundated with piles of rubbish.
