Lebanese Army Intelligence arrests two migrant smugglers

The Lebanese Army Intelligence Branch said in a statement issued on Sunday that it arrested two suspected migrant smugglers.

According to the military statement, an Army Intelligence unit arrested on Saturday in the northern Nahr al-Bared refugee camp two Palestinians organizing the smuggling of 21 Palestinians to Turkey in a fishing boat.

The statement identified the two smugglers as Mohammad Saleh and Mohammad Majzoub.

An Army unit also raided an apartment in the Jabal Beddawi region in the north Lebanon city of Tripoli, and arrested the 21 Palestinian nationals attempting to illegally leave Lebanon via the sea.
