Lebanese officials convene 6th round of national dialogue
The sixth national dialogue kicked off on Wednesday amid the participation of all the members except for Change and Reform Bloc leader MP Michel Aoun who was represented by MP Ibrahim Kanaan due to medical reasons.

Sources reported that the contacts, which have been made regarding the military promotions, did not lead to a positive outcome.

Following the session, MP Kanaan stressed that a new president should represent all Lebanese factions, emphasizing the necessity of setting a new electoral law.

For his part, Head of the Kataeb Party MP Sami Gemayel said that officials are tasked with restoring the work of institutions by electing a new president.

Rival political officials agreed during the third dialogue session, which took place last month, to exert their best endeavors in order to put an end to the presidential stalemate.

Consequently, three dialogue sessions are set to be held on October 6, 7 and 8.
