UCC to continue with planned strike on Monday

The Union Coordination Committee said on Wednesday that it will continue with its scheduled strike next week, in a bid to press the Parliament to approve the much awaited pay scale.

The UCC noted that the sit-in will be held next Monday at 11:00 a.m. outside the social affairs ministry in Beirut's Badaro region.

The UCC is a committee formed of different public sector unions in Lebanon.

A new pay scale, approved by the Lebanon’s Cabinet in 2012, has been stuck in Parliament, prompting the UCC to stage a series of strikes and protests, demanding that MPs approve the bill.
