Public Prosecutor listens to lawyer Ziad Bitar’s testimony in wake of lawsuit filed against Lebanese ministers
The Public Prosecutor listened Friday to the testimony of head of the International Cooperation for Human Rights, lawyer Ziad Bitar, regarding the lawsuit  filed by the said association against Lebanese ministers on charges of contributing to the “spread of diseases and disregarding their assigned responsibilities in terms of resolving the alarming waste management crisis.”

Lebanon has been grappling with a waste crisis following the July 17 closure of the Naameh landfill.

This has led to the piling up of garbage on the streets of the capital and other areas.

Experts have long warned of the dangers of the lingering crisis on the environment and people's health.
