“You Stink” campaign resumes movements

“You Stink” Campaign called for staging two symbolic movements, one to be held Wednesday outside the Justice Palace, and another scheduled for Thursday outside the Ministries of Finance and Telecommunications.

The campaign also called for staging “a peaceful protest on Saturday at 3:00 pm in Riad al-Solh Square to urge the government to convene as soon as possible and approve a new electoral law.”

In a press conference held on Monday, the campaign stressed that the most important demand is “reaching a solution to resolve the waste crisis while preserving the environment and public health.” It added that a new electoral law based on proportional representation that guarantees reforms is also among the demands.

In this context, the campaign denounced the delay of the parliament in resolving the national issues, stressing the need to elect a new president, and calling for respecting the constitution, separating religion and state and granting the Lebanese people their most basic rights.

On another note, the campaign pointed out that “whoever thinks that its movements have been fruitless and that it has hindered the waste file is mistaken.”
