Sleiman: Modern electoral law required to improve democratic performance
President Michel Sleiman said that improving Lebanon’s democratic performance requires a wide range of reforms such as a modern electoral law that guarantees a just representation for the different Lebanese factions, especially in light of the Lebanese constitution that has included all confessions in the political system.

“The right representation gives everyone their rights”, Sleiman said while hosting delegations and leading figures in Beiteddine. “Lebanon has strong points in many different areas, thus making it a democratic model for the rest of the world.

The Presidency’s press office issued a statement saying that President Sleiman will return to Baabda Palace on Saturday afternoon after spending nearly a month at the summer presidential residence in Beiteddine.
