Social Affairs Center opens in Roumieh Prison

Lebanon’s Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour conjunctly opened on Wednesday a center for social affairs in Roumieh prison to be run by 8 professionals.

Within this frame, Charbel confirmed that the ministry will be following up on the well-being of the prisoners, stating that this center comes as a result of the efforts pulled off by the Ministers of Health, Justice and Social Affairs.

For his part, Abou Faour stressed that the ministry is now placing the issue of prisoners on its task list, adding that this effort applied by Minister Charbel sets an example for the rest of the government.
