Zahra: LAF the only side vested with preserving Lebanon’s sovereignty

Lebanese Forces (LF) MP Antoine Zahra said that a coup was staged on the Taif agreement as claims surfaced that freeing Lebanese territories now solely rests with one party that has monopolized the resistance. This party has dismantled all other wings of the resistance and armed its own forces in a bid to liberate the Lebanese territories”, Zahra said. He added that his party is seeking to implement the Taif agreement and rebuild the state.

Zahra added, during a LF dinner in Baabda, that “the opposition cannot accept, while it is building the second republic, to have the nails put in its coffin again by legitimating extrastatal arms”, Zahra said, adding that the LAF is the only side vested with preserving the country’s sovereignty under the constitutional authorities elected in Lebanon.
