Electricity plan did not reach Parliament
The Parliament’s General Secretariat said the Parliament has not yet received the electricity bill, unlike what the media has reported.

Following weeks of political wrangling, the government approved the electricity bill on September 7th after a last-minute compromise was reached over the funding of the project.

Aimed at relieving Lebanon of pandemic power outages, the draft electricity law proposed by the Minister of Energy Gibran Bassil would set aside $1.2 Billion to build power plants across Lebanon capable of producing an additional 700 megawatts.
