Charbel urges politicians to cooperate as security plan comes into effect
Interior Minister Marwan Charbel hoped on Wednesday that the security plan will be successfully implemented during this month and throughout the year.

Charbel confirmed that security apparatuses will not serve as a “scapegoat”, hoping that politicians will contribute to the success of the plan by easing tensions.

The minister explained that the security plan will be first implemented in Beirut’s Southern Suburbs given that many people complain about the absence of state in that particular area.

Charbel called on politicians to stop firing accusations at security apparatuses and to help them instead play their role effectively.

The interior minister confirmed that “no one enjoys political immunity” and that all defaulters will be held accountable.

Charbel earlier arrived in Musharrafieh where security checkpoints were installed to verify the identity of passengers.

He later headed for Corniche al-Mazraa where he stated that the cabinet needs a political decision to disarm the entire Lebanese regions.

In this context, LBCI learned that the security plan is being implemented through a joint operations room involving all Lebanese Serails.
