Contract workers close main gate of EDL

Contract workers at Electricité du Liban (EDL) announced on Monday that they will go on with their sit-in until they are granted all their rights.

The workers stressed that the reason behind their rally today is the months-long delay in the payment of their salaries, adding that EDL is to be held accountable.

They called on all employees across Lebanon to join in a mass rally on Tuesday outside the EDL’s main headquarters to call for their rights.

Earlier in the day, the contract workers had closed the company’s main entrances in Corniche El Nahr demanding their salaries for the months of May and June.
