Majdalani: Hezbollah will allow cabinet to fund STL

Future bloc MP Atef Majdalani said Monday that he expects the approval of the STL funding clause, adding that Hezbollah will find a way to authorize the funding, without adopting a direct position on the matter, in a bid to spare Lebanon the possibility of international sanctions that would take its toll on Hezbollah as well.

Commenting on the Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai’s position put forth from Paris, Majdalani told Voice of Lebanon that he was surprised to hear Rai defending the illegitimate arms, which are hindering the establishment of a strong capable state. Majdalani added that one should wait and see what His Beatitude will say on the matter in the upcoming days.
