Israel displays “defense capabilities” against threats on many fronts

The northern leadership of the Israeli Army outlined a plan to expose the border region with Lebanon in front of Western media, after six years since the July war. The message included an escalation in incitement and threats to Hezbollah, adding that the “Iranian eyes” became closer and focused on Israel from Lebanese southern towns putting the region’s security in danger.     

The Israeli threats were not limited to Hezbollah this time, but also reached the residents of the southern towns. The Galilee unit commander Hertze Halevy spoke about the nature of the next war against Hezbollah, saying that it will be a “war of challenges”. “Any rocket launched from a southern town, this town will be eliminated and completely destroyed”, he threatened.         

Contrary to previous reports issued by leaders and officials in the Army, the Israeli said that they did learn many lessons from the war of July, adding that they are now equipped with sophisticated weapons able to resolve the battle over a very short period. According to the plan prepared by the army for the next war, the residents of the Lebanese southern towns will be asked to evacuate the region within a specified period of time. In case they did not respond to the call, they will be responsible for such decision. The Israeli claimed that thousands of rockets are planted between residential houses in the southern towns of Lebanon.           

The Israeli army also said that the goal of Hezbollah, Syria and Iran is to enhance Hezbollah’s military capabilities, noting that the Israeli intelligence is monitoring Hezbollah’s moves as well as the moves of the Lebanese people inside their homes.
