Aoun: Koura battle is our concern

Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun voiced on Friday his support for the Syrian Social National Party candidate Walid al-Azar in Koura’s subsidiary elections.

Following his meeting with former MP Salim Saade in Rabiyeh, Aoun confirmed that “the battle concerns the FPM as if the candidate were affiliated with the movement”.

In his concluding remarks, Aoun mockingly asked the LF's candidate whether or not he had seen what was going on in Akkar and Tripoli in response to comments previously expressed by the latter.

Karam in his Thursday comments had asked "what origins does the Syrian regime have in the Koura area", to which Aoun also replied, "if they [LF] are pleased with what is happening in Akkar and Tripoli, then 'good tidings' to them.
