The Cinema Plaza Scandal: 36 citizens underwent homosexuality test
Burj Hammoud’s “Cinema Plaza” was shut down under the state’s order for “posing a threat to public morality”. The move is not unprecedented since the state has shut down many movie theaters before, including “Cinema Monaco”.

In details, the public morality bureau decided to arrest 36 people present in the cinema and subjected them to homosexuality tests that involved touching their private parts.

In this context, a social activist told LBCI that “vulnerable people” in Lebanon, such as Palestinians, foreign workers and homosexuals, are lately coming under attack, adding that he will file an objection with the medical syndicate against homosexual tests.
