Sleiman says adheres to proportional representation

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman stressed on Thursday that he adheres to the newly-approved electoral law adopting proportional representation.
Sleiman confirmed that the law was endorsed by a wide segment of people including those refusing it nowadays.

Sleiman hoped that the House of Parliament would instantly endorse the law after study so that the cabinet would start exploring the administrative decentralization project and refer it to the House of Parliament.

Separately, Sleiman received at his residence in Beiteddine Displaced Minister Aladdine Terro.

The President also received the UN Secretary General Special Representative in Lebanon, Derek Plumbly, who informed the President of the UNIFIL's work in the South.
