Introduction to the evening news 15-08-2012

Is Syria’s “war” now playing out on Lebanese soil, using Lebanese tools? Or has the crisis in Syria escalated to the point of “release” vise a vise Lebanon?                
Are today’s events a “cover up” for the recently found 24 explosive ordinances brought in from Syria into Lebanon? Never to reach their destination?                

As the country awaits the answers, Lebanon remains at the crossroads, the first being the return of the country to the table of National Dialogue in the presence of Siniora. The second being the interrogation of former minister Michel Samaha before the military court.                

On the latter case, sources close to LBCI revealed that contrary to what has been spreading on whether or not Jamil Sayyed was in Samaha’s vehicle, the minute of the investigation confirmed thelack of any statement on the matter within.                     

Investigative sources said however, that a Bekkaa political official relayed claims to the investigative division of the ISF, confirming Sayyed’s presence in Samaha’s vehicle at the time the car passed through the Masnaa crossing point, something which the division is still investigating.
