“Beirut Digital District” launched today

PM Najib Mikati stated on Monday during his speech at “Beirut Digital District” launching ceremony that this project is "symbolic", stressing that Lebanon supports the economy of knowledge and digital economy.

The Prime minister also announced that other centers in various areas will be opened soon.

"We are determined to fulfill our duties to keep Lebanon on the technological map", Mikati exclaimed. He added that the security of the citizens as well as the social and economic security are "red lines".

Mikati concluded his speech with a promise to maintain civil peace.

For his part, Telecommunication Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui said: “our aim is to turn Lebanon into Middle East's digital world."

"This is a legacy that we should be leaving for our children", Sehnaoui added.
