No smoking in public administrations

The non-smoking law is not something new in the official headquarters, pubic departments and institutions. One year ago, reverberations of applying the law started and it was hard even on the chamber of deputies that signed it.

Within this framework, the head of the parliamentary health committee Atef Majdalani said to LBCI that some MPs have already quit smoking while others are still revolting against its implementation.

In the Grand Serail, a smoking lounge was made for smokers; whereas, in the Presidential Palace, smokers must leave to open air. Ministries are now committed to the law and the Ministry of Health was the first to adopt the law for its minister wanted it from the first moment, a non-smoking area.

It is worth mentioning that disparity is obvious between public administrations and private companies that are often committed to laws hard to impose on public institutions.
