Joint parliamentary Committees discuss electoral law
A meeting chaired by Deputy Speaker MP Farid Mekary of the joint parliamentary committees was held to discuss a draft electoral law presented by cabinet based on proportional representation and another law presented by MPs Alain Aoun and Nehmatallah Abi Nasr.

The joint committees have approved the higher education draft law, and referred the electoral law to the government due to the absence of the Foreign Minister's signature.

It is worth noting that this draft law has raised wide objections from March 14 forces and the National Struggle Front while LF bloc in coordination with its allies in March 14 objected proposing a new electoral law based on smaller districts.

For their part, MPs Nawar Sahili and Ali Ammar proposed issuing a recommendation to condemn offending Islam.
