Heated dispute between a detainee and security forces erupts in Justice Palace

A row broke out between detainee Mohammed Shukor and a number of security personnel in the Justice Palace where he is currently held.

According to the NNA, Shukor earlier attempted to escape from his cell after wounding one of the guards with a metal blade and setting the mattress on fire.

The security forces eventually extinguished the fire and contained the situation. The inmate is accused of drug use and will now face additional charges for assaulting an officer and attempted escape.
