Sleiman from Uruguay: For finding comprehensive solution for Middle East

President of the Lebanese Republic Michel Sleiman said on Saturday that Lebanon is seeking multilateral cooperation between Uruguay and the countries of South America on one hand, and Lebanon and Arab countries on the other.          

Sleiman stated that this cooperation may take place by following up the decisions of the periodical Arab-South American Summits in order to promote the political and economic partnership between the two regions.        

During his visit to Uruguay, Sleiman stressed the importance of finding a just and comprehensive solution for the Middle East based on International Legitimacy resolutions, the Madrid Conference and the Arab Peace Initiative that was ratified in Beirut in 2002.        

For his part, the President of Uruguay José Mujica welcomed his Lebanese counterpart; the 2nd Lebanese President to visit Uruguay since 1954.             

President Mujica noted the positive role that the Lebanese diaspora is playing in Uruguay by contributing to the country's development and prosperity.
