Aoun: elections may not be held in time
Head of the Change and Reform Bloc MP Michel Aoun said on Thursday that he did not discuss the validity of his assassination attempt and he is still awaiting the results of the investigations which may end this week.

In a talk to Kalam Ennas on LBCI, Aoun reiterated his refusal towards the 50-districts electoral law and mentioned in this regard that the 60-districts electoral law was not bad suggestion “as a transitional stage pointing” out that the aim of this law is to give Christians the largest number of deputies.

In this context, Aoun mentioned that the security situation in Akkar and Tripoli does not serve favorably in regards to the elections. “The electoral lists are not ready yet, and names of candidates will not be revealed now”, Aoun added.

Regarding the Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah claiming responsibility of the spy drone which violated Israeli airspace, Aoun said: “Israeli aircrafts are violating our sovereignty daily, and it was the first time that a response was made.”

As for the insults against May Chidiac Aoun said, “we do not reply politically against her talks; I do not know the person who insulted her personally, and she takes individual responsibility in this regard”.
