Future bloc delegation visits Patriarch Rai

A delegation from the Future parliamentary bloc visited on Monday Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai in Bkerke.

Following the meeting, MP Sami Jisr said that they briefed Patriarch Rai about the efforts deployed by Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to form a new government.

“We confirmed to Rai that Hariri is adamant on forming a mission government made of non-partisan experts who are known for their efficiency and success,” MP Jisr added.

He also said that the bloc joins its voice to the voice of Rai in calling for a swift formation of a new government, adding that Hariri is committed to the implementation of the Taif agreement “mainly what it stipulates in terms of preserving the rights of the Lebanese, Muslims and Christians alike."

MP Jisr also said that they reiterated support for the Baabda Declaration, which stipulated on Lebanon's distancing itself from International and regional conflicts." 

He concluded by stressing that Hariri is carrying out tours abroad to explain Lebanon’s cause and to pave the way for aid.
