President Aoun: Government formation standards must respect principles of equal distribution

President Michel Aoun stressed on Monday the need to form a new government that is able to deal with the hard economic situation that the Lebanese people are suffering from.

President Aoun also noted that the Cabinet must be formed according to specific standards that respect the principles of equal distribution, and enables those with powers to exercise their powers, without adopting the principle of “monopoly in the government formation process”.

Aoun’s comments were made while receiving head of the General Labor Union Bechara al-Asmar at the Baabda Presidential Palace.

For his part, al-Asmar stressed the need of forming a Cabinet made of “competent, clean-minded people who are known for their patriotism in order to be able to achieve the desired advancement during this bad economic situation in Lebanon.”
