Rai from Illinois: Lebanon a model of coexistence and dialogue
Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai called on Monday for praying for Lebanon, which is a model of coexistence and dialogue between Muslims and Christians, stressing that the Christians presence in Lebanon embodies this unique message.

“Lebanon has proven to be a multi-religious country where different religions can coexist and engage in dialogue,” he added.

Rai said from the city of Peoria, Illinois, that “the Lebanese community is being torn apart by political schisms while the world is headed for more violence, wars and terrorism,” adding that “we, the Lebanese, have tasted the bitterness of war and we don’t want for others to experience what we have been through.”
