Sleiman urges pressure from International Community against Israel

President Michel Sleiman condemned on Thursday the “barbaric” Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, stressing that Israel promotes death and destruction.

Sleiman added that policies of war and violence hinder lasting comprehensive peace and democracy in the Middle East.

In this context, Sleiman urged the International Community to pressure Israel to cease violent policies and engage in peaceful negotiations.

Separately, the President hoped that the Hijri New Year would be a blessing to all and bring forth peace.
