UK's Fraser relays government's support towards army, dialogue and President

President Michel Sleiman met with Permanent Under Secretary of the Ministry of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Simon Fraser who conveyed his government's support for stability in Lebanon, the army, and the continuation of the work of institutions and promoting national dialogue.

The talks dealt with the situation in Syria and Gaza, and finding means for peaceful solutions in this regard.

Sleiman also discussed the economic situation with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) stressing on the importance of taking measures to increase productivity and maintain competitiveness.

Visitors to the Baabda Palace also included MP Boutros Harb, and a delegation from UNRWA which discussed the situation of the displaced Palestinians from Syria with the President.
