MP Makhzoumi to LBCI: Row with Hezbollah is not limited to Saudi Arabia

MP Fouad Makhzoui said on Monday that Hezbollah’s strength resides not only in its weaponry and in the 100,000 fighters, but also in the weakness of the Christian, Sunni and Shiite leaders who accepted its terms and followed its agenda.

In an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV show, the lawmaker stressed that that the row with Hezbollah is not limited to Saudi Arabia only, adding that the majority of the Lebanese people are also opposed to Hezbollah and its political agenda which does not represent them.

“We refuse Hezbollah’s policies inside Lebanon and we reject the fact that it has a regional agenda that jeopardizes the security of the Gulf States,” Makhzoumi explained.

He also criticized Prime Minister Najib Mikati for not cutting his trip abroad short while the country was embroiled in a diplomatic crisis with the Gulf States.

The MP stressed the need of dismissing Minister of Information Georges Kordahi in the Cabinet, rather than “in Bkerke or in the Baabda Presidential Palace,” pointing out that the second step is to choose ministers who are able to talk with Gulf governments to find solutions.
