LAF dismantle rocket set to launch towards Israel in Marjeyoun

The Lebanese Army Command announced that a rocket set to launch towards Israel was found in Marjeyoun Thursday morning. A LAF engineer dismantled the rocket and investigations were launched to reveal the incident’s circumstances and persons involved.

Earlier on Wednesday night, a Lebanese security source said to AFP that 2 rockets were fired from Lebanon towards Israel. The official said that one of these rockets failed to reach Israel and crashed in Lebanese territories while the second continued its path towards Israel.

No further information was reported regarding where the second rocket landed. It is worth noting that the Lebanese army also dismantled two rockets aimed at Israel in southern Lebanon.

The rockets were found in the town of Halta and were about 1 km away from an Israeli military site on Mount Hermon. Both appeared to be recently placed in the area, the security sources said.
