Fires are erupting again across Lebanon as the country is witnessing a rise in temperatures.

This as a massive fire broke out in the Aley town of Bchamoun with firefighters and Civil Defense members working on putting it out in cooperation with the Lebanese army.

This as the weather in Lebanon is expected to change in the next few hours with a foreseen drop of temperature and rains.

Meanwhile, Minister of Environment Nasser Yassine headed to the region of Bchamoun and examined the fire.

He also followed up with the concerned parties the firefighting operations and the efforts deployed to contain the blaze.

For his part, Director General of the Lebanese Civil Defense General Raymond Khattar is supervising the ongoing extinguishing operations with reinforcements brought in from Beirut, Metn and the surrounding areas to help in containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to the surrounding forest areas.

These operations are being carried out with the help of helicopters from the Lebanese Air Force and the Beirut Fire Brigade personnel.

This as the Beirut Fire Brigade appealed to everyone who can supply water to firefighting vehicles in the vicinity of the Bchamoun area to do so as soon as possible.
