National Bloc says BDL’s decision could have catastrophic results

Lebanese National Bloc party said on Thursday that “what happened since the beginning of the week is an attempt to rob the rest of citizens' money,” adding that “the heroes of the play this week were Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh.”

“What happened this week proves that the system plans to avoid punishment and to preserve its gains at the expense of the entire community, although the difference now is that “public opinion and the international community are aware of their practices,” the party explained, and stressed that “required reforms ended with an arbitrary measure raising the USD exchange rate whose results may be disastrous.”
