Future Movement political member Bkassini to LBCI: No external pressure on Hariri

Future Movement's political bureau member George Bkassini described on Tuesday during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show on LBCI former PM Saad Hariri's reluctance to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections as an earthquake that reflects the political crisis’ depth in the country.

“Hariri announced a year ago that if the French initiative fails, he will withdraw from political life,” Bkassini said and continued by explaining that the strongest evidence that this initiative did not go forward is the government, which was said to be made up of specialists but stopped its work at the first obstacle due to some of its parties.

He then revealed that the main reason behind Hariri's stance is his self-review, stressing that “there is no external pressure on him.”
