Aridi: Politics should not interfere in administrative appointments

Works and Transportation Minister Ghazi Aridi said that the National Struggle Front (NSF) holds no objections against the appointment of Adnan al-Sayyed Hussein as president of the Lebanese University (LU).

Aridi added that although the NSF is on good terms with al-Sayyed Hussein, the Lebanese will not like the fact that politics and narrow interests are interfering in administrative appointments.

 During a visit to Beirut harbor, Aridi said that the cabinet needs to pay more attention the issue of the LU, adding that dialogue between the Labor Union, the government and the employees can neither be circumstantial nor conducted under duress. 

“Despite the regional turbulence, business in Beirut harbor is still blooming”, Aridi said, adding that Tripoli was chosen to be the headquarters for the Arab Harbor Union.  

Speaking on the high voltage power lines in Mansourieh, Aridi said that there is no use in forming a dialogue committee that will involve the residents since the decision was already taken.
