Rai during Easter sermon: We are betting on holding parliamentary and presidential elections on time

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai stressed on Saturday during his Easter sermon at Bkerke that they are betting on holding parliamentary elections on time, followed by the presidential elections, in order to achieve the desired change.

He also considered that if the people do not realize how critical this stage is, they are to blame for the country's demise, underlining “the need for the Lebanese people to choose their representatives and to realize that by doing so, they are choosing not only the next president of the republic, but also the next republic.”

“It will be through Lebanon's unity and diversity that it will be saved, and it will be necessary of it to reclaim its role and neutral identity,” the Patriarch pointed out, considering that Lebanon's identity was shattered as a result of its many affiliations.
