Patriarch Rai: self distancing is respecting other nations' sovereignty

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai criticized on Sunday Lebanese politicians for failing to solve fundamental national issues such as ratifying a new electoral law before the coming elections.

Rai added that the dissociation policy announced by President Michel Sleiman stands for respecting sovereignty of other nations and noninterference in their local affairs with the support of certain parties.

“This is rejected because it only brings crises and divisions to our country,” Rai concluded.
