Introduction to the evening news 16-12-2012

In light of different analyses of the Syrian crisis, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah addressed al-Qaeda organization saying “today, I tell the Qaeda that Americans, Europeans and some governments in the Arab and Islamic World set you a trap in Syria; they opened the country for you to kill each other.”   

Nasrallah also said that an important part of the Syrian people is with the regime while another part is with the opposition.    

In turn, in his first statement for over a year and a half, Syrian Vice-President Farouk al-Charaa said that the opposition cannot claim to be the only legitimate representative of the Syrian people. “The existing rule cannot make a change alone, without new partners,” he said.      

These analyses come at a time when Damascus is witnessing unprecedented military developments; in fact, Syrian warplanes shelled the Yarmouk camp for Syrian refugees.     

In Egypt, preliminary results showed the Egyptians’ timid support for the constitution referendum. This support is expected to tie President Morsi instead of releasing his hands.          Separately, Lebanon received 4 bodies among the Talkalakh victims today.
