REPORT: Forzol residents block road in protest

Several residents from the town of Forzol took to the streets on Monday morning and proceeded to block the road leading to the town’s vegetable market in protest of the contracting company assigned with roads work failing to meet its requirements.

The road, which many commuters dub as a branch of the international road to Damascus lacks all descriptions affiliated with decent and safe travel with residents saying that it has caused damage not only to their vehicles, but to their businesses as well.

In this context residents wonder how long before the government would turn an eye towards them and other deprived areas in the Bekaa especially since these same residents paid out of their pockets to rehabilitate the road two years ago.
