A fire broke out on Monday morning in the outskirts of the Metn town of Roumieh.

Columns of smoke rose in the area, while firefighting teams were working on containing it.

Later in the day, the blaze was extinguished almost completely.

This as MP Elias Hanakash inspected the site of the fire, stressing that the fire was not an accident.

"We have proofs that the fire was arson, and the municipality arrested people who were carrying out woodcutting work in the Roumieh outskirts, and released them later.
