Hamas presents Berri with official invitation to visit Gaza

Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, met on Wednesday in Ain-el-Tineh with a delegation from the Hamas Movement, headed by Palestinian MP Mounir Masri and comprised of the movement's representatives in Lebanon.            

Masri presented to Berri an official invitation by the Palestinian First Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Mohammad Bahr, to visit Gaza on top of a parliamentary delegation.                   

Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Masri said that talks tackled the victory scored by the resistance in Gaza during the last Israeli attack on the strip.            

He added that during the meeting, the delegation renewed Hamas' sturdy position spurning sectarian conflicts.                      

"Unity in Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt, and in all the Arab and Islamic countries is undoubtedly in favor of the Palestinian Cause; therefore,  the Hamas Movement is concerned with ending the sectarian conflicts because the unity of the nation helps liberate the land," Masri said.                 

"We called on the Speaker to exert efforts with Lebanese officials to find provisional shelters for the displaced Palestinians from the Yarmouk camp in Syria," he concluded. 

Separately, Berri discussed during the Wednesday periodical meeting various files; stressing on  the need of a positive atmosphere in light of sub-parliamentary committee’s meetings held for tackling the electoral law.
