EDL: Syndicate will not retreat from its righteous cause

The Head of EDL Workers and Users Syndicate Charbel Saleh said on Tuesday that the Syndicate will not draw back from any right consecrated by a decree and added that they will not allow the abolition of any of these rights.

During a press conference, Saleh said, that they are calling on those who canceled most of the budget items, especially those pertaining to the compensations of users and workers, to retreat from their decision.

Saleh hoped that the Finance Ministry would correct the decision it took regarding the EDL Workers and Users and added that the last decree ratified [7410] was related to modifying the pay scale of the EDL Users.

It is worth noting that EDL contract workers have been protesting for months calling on the government to employ them as full-time staff and to pay their salaries knowing that various items have been removed from the 2013 budget and most of them are related to EDL compensation.
