Allouch to LBCI: Orthodox Gathering proposal promotes division

In an interview with LBCI’s TV show Nharkom Said, Former MP Mustafa Allouch said that the relations between the Future Movement and the Lebanese Forces party are excellent, stressing that the movement and March 14 parties have a "national project".

Allouch added that discussions concerning the electoral law kicked off over a year ago, emphasizing that "a demographic change modified the position of the Christians and that the Sunnites in Lebanon are acting as if they were a minority."

According to Allouch, a series of incidents and complications during 40 years enhanced the fanaticism of all confessions.

Allouch then stated that the suggested electoral laws do not allow adequate representation and that the law proposed by the Orthodox Gathering promotes division.
