Introduction to the evening news 11-01-2013

   
After 7 meetings for the parliamentary sub-committee, the committee ended on Friday its work in the absence of MP Alain Aoun.                  

As for the minutes of the sub-committee, they will be finalized by Monday to raise them to Speaker Nabih Berri.                     

During his meeting with MP Georges Adwan in Ain el-Tineh, Berri said that he cannot go to the general authority with an incomplete electoral law requesting a vote of approval.               

Berri called for a full draft of the electoral law and added that the parliamentary sub-committee is proceeding its discussions related to the articles of the electoral law.                     

Another important event took place in Bkerke this evening; a meeting was held at the Maronite Patriarchate between Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai, the Kataeb Leader Amin Gemayel, FPM Leader Michel Aoun and Head of the Marada party Sleiman Franjieh.         

However, the content of the meeting remained undisclosed.               

On the Syrian file, the International envoy Lakhdar Brahimi and senior envoys from Russia and the United States called for a political solution to end Syria's crisis but reached no breakthrough.                     

As for the issue of the Al-Ghadir River, an amount of USD 500 will be given to each affected family other than the compensation that will be given by the Higher Relief Commission after scanning the damages.
