Al-Ahdab to LBCI: Some armed groups in Lebanon are more dangerous than al-Qaeda

Former MP Mosbah al-Ahdab stressed that holding the Islamist detainees in Roumieh prison without trial is unacceptable, considering that this situation feeds tensions.

Al-Ahdab told Nharkom Said on Sunday that some armed groups in Tripoli are protected by security apparatuses and by some ministries. “These groups are more dangerous than al-Qaeda,” he said.

Al-Ahdab reiterated his rejection of the Orthodox Gathering’s proposal considering it as “a prelude for a regime change.” In contrast, he voiced his support for an electoral law based on proportional representation.
