Cardinal Rai tackles Syrian crisis

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rai urged on Sunday the Lebanese people to stand in solidarity with the Syrian refugees, revealing that the Caritas organization launched a campaign to aid the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

In this context, Rai demanded to control and monitor the Lebanese borders to prevent arms trafficking to Lebanon.

He also called on the leaders of the countries participating in the Syrian war to cease inciting strife.

Rai then addressed the Lebanese politicians and asked them to isolate politics from the Syrian crisis.
