Sayegh to LBC: Lebanon is being held hostage

Former PM Saad Hariri’s advisor Daoud Sayegh denied on Saturday that “Christians will pay the price of the Arab Spring”, confirming that “the issue of Copts in Egypt was not born yesterday; it is rather a chronic issue.”

Sayegh told Nharkom Saiid TV show that “Lebanon is being held hostage especially after the events in Syria.”

In his concluding remarks, Sayegh called for turning a new page on the past with regards to reactions sparked by Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai’s position on Hezbollah and Syria, highlighting ongoing contacts between Hariri and the patriarch.
