Rai from Los Angeles: Bkerke will not waiver on STL

Following a meeting with a delegation from the Future Movement in Los Angeles on Saturday, Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai underscored the importance of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).

Rai conveyed to the delegation his keenness on discussing the STL issue with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon during next week’s meeting.

The head of the delegation Walid Bondok told LBC TV station that he urged patriarch Rai to call on the concerned parties for giving Lebanese nationals living abroad the right to vote.

During a lunch banquet organized by the Lady of Lebanon parish, Rai said that no one can undermine the role of the Christians in the Middle East, adding that the Church is dependent on the support of believers rather not only on the ecclesial body.
